Norman Piluke was a multi-awarded photographer known
for his Canadian landscape and travel photographs. His
photographs are notable for his sharp colors, clarity, and
composition.
Norman was a nature-lover and a traveller. This innate
quality honed his ability to capture the uniqueness of each
landscape he captured. His photographs are noted for the
sharpness, and vivid colors. The clarity of his photos and
technical composition is more distinguished when printed
into mural sizes. His style is distinctly his own as
evidenced by numerous awards he received and on the pages of
publications that his photographs were published.
His favorite subjects were the national and provincial parks
of Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia. As well, his
portfolio consists landscapes and wildlife in the US,
Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Norman is an intuitive and methodical photographer. In
taking great photos, he believes that “a reality exists in
the ability to see it” hence, once he has an image in
mind, he would search for it, sometimes, revisiting
locations multiple times until the image is captured on
film. Then, he would personally begin the meticulous process
of developing the film in his dark room.
He also personally processed and developed his photos in his
dark room. The next phase of printing and framing a
photograph also display’s Norman’s technical expertise as a
craftsman as his images do not loss its sharpness and
details even when printed from format size to murals. His
technique in canvass stretching, printing, and framing was
meticulous.
